Ladbrokes are offering 7-1 for the Boks to win the RWC for a record 3rd time

The two-time champions will be looking for their third World Cup triumph having previously won rugby’s show piece in 1995 and 2007. That kind of rugby pedigree is not to be overlooked, and they are definitely worth a bet to win the tournament again in England.

Player to watch: Jesse Kriel

After scoring two tries in his first two appearances for the Springboks, Kriel has now fully cemented himself as South Africa's first choice 13. His ability to beat player's at ease will make him a tricky customer for any defender to deal with, with Australia and New Zealand not needing any reminders of what Kriel can do with ball in hand. A star of the recent southern hemisphere Rugby Championship, Kriel is always a try scoring candidate. There’s money to be made here backing him to score anytime without doubt.

The Springboks travel to England somewhat under the radar after a less than inspiring Rugby Championship campaign but with many of their Test stalwarts back in the mix after recovering from injury who would write them off!

Inspirational leader Jean De Villiers makes a welcome return to the side, and coach Heyneke Meyer has a squad packed full of experience at his disposal. The effervescent Victor Matfield will lead a physical and combative pack, and his partnership with Eben Etzebeth in the second row will be key to their chances.

Out wide, the likes of Bryan Habana and Willie le Roux have the pace and guile to unlock any defence. If it rains in England (which it so often does!) the kicking game of Fourie du Preez at nine will be crucial, and the South African game plan will suit those conditions perfectly. Competitve in all conditions, it will be no surprise to see them make a run deep in the competition.

With possibly the easiest of all the pools they should be in a commanding position come the play-offs and cup style rugby!
