Bulls squad depth to be put to the test with two games on the same day

The Bulls' squad depth will be tested this weekend as Jake White's charges face two fixtures on the same day on two different continents.

Part of the Bulls' reward for beating the Sharks and booking their place in the Rainbow Cup Final is a double matchday this Saturday as they complete their Rainbow Cup campaign and start their 2021 Currie Cup season.

The Bulls face Bennetton in Treviso on Saturday but a few hours earlier they will host Western Province at Loftus Versfeld.

The overlap in fixtures means that their squad will be spread especially thin between the two games with Jake White also without his Springboks as well as his SA u20s.

Trevor Nyakane, Marco van Staden and Morné Steyn are all unavailable having been named in the Springbok squad while the Bulls have also been hit with injuries with the likes of Duane Vermeulen, Sintu Manjezi, Arno Botha, Embrose Papier, and Elrigh Louw all sidelined.

Six u20 stars have also been added to the South African u20 side while Steadman Gans and Kurt-Lee Arendse are also away from the side on sevens duty.

The Bulls are likely to still field a relatively strong side in the Rainbow Cup Final with Marcell Coetzee set to lead the side but will have to dip into their club system to field a matchday 23 against Western Province in the Currie Cup.
