The Brumbies announced the signing of four players to the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific roster, all being elevated from the Elite Development Squad.
In a great showcase of the Brumbies pathways, Kadin Pritchard has inked a three-year contract until the end of 2027 while Shane Wilcox, Lachlan Hooper and Tevita Alatini have all signed on for the 2025 season. All four players were members of the Brumbies Super Rugby U19s championship winning team in 2023.
Kadin Pritchard has enjoyed a strong 2024 season with the outside back having standout performances for Brumbies Runners, and the Gungahlin Eagles Colts side before joining the Australian U20s side in South Africa for the World Rugby U20 Championships in June.
Fellow outside back Shane Wilcox was also on board for the Australian U20s campaign, and has gone from strength to strength since. Being named captain of the Brumbies Super Rugby U19s side for Round 1 and 2 of the competition, Wilcox brings a wealth of talent to the 2025 squad.
2023’s U19s Grand Final man of the match and Brumbies captain Lachlan Hooper boasts a strong history in the Australian U20s also. Hooper started for the national side last year in all five World Rugby U20 Championship outings as a 19 year-old, though unfortunately the backrower missed the 2024 campaign due to injury.
Rounding out the four signings is another Australian U20s representative in 2024, Tevita Alatini. Part of the EDS squad through the year, the tight head prop has also been a consistent force at Brumbies training sessions, earning his place in the top squad.
ACT Brumbies Head Coach Stephen Larkham says he is excited that the young guns have all put pen to paper for the coming season.
“The hard work all four of them have put in each and every week at training has certainly paid off. I know they will provide a positive impact to our 2025 playing group both on and off the field,” said Larkham.
