Blackadder squashes Halfpenny rumours

Todd Blackadder did not take much time to shoot down the latest social media rumours linking Bath with Leigh Halfpenny.

"That definitely won't be happening," said the director of rugby of the suggestion the Wales full-back would leave Scarlets early and head to the Rec next season. 

Halfpenny is not even a year into a three-year national dual contract (NDC) at the Scarlets. As previously reported, Halfpenny did visit Bath while he was at Toulon and contemplating his future, but it never went any further than that.

Bath feel well-stocked at full-back. First-choice 15 Anthony Watson - who is now out for six months with an Achilles tear - is contracted to the summer of 2019. Tom Homer is contracted to the summer of 2020 and academy full-back Darren Atkins has also signed a new deal.
