Ben Youngs captains Leicester Tigers against Worcester

Steve Borthwick has named the Leicester Tigers matchday squad to take on Worcester Warriors in Round 20 of the Premiership season this Saturday.

Ben Youngs will captain the team from scrum-half in a half-back pairing with Johnny McPhillips and, in the Leicester midfield, Dan Kelly is named at inside-centre and Matt Scott at outside-centre.

Nemani Nadolo and Kobus Van Wyk are included as the Leicester wings, with Zack Henry completing the Tigers back-three at full-back.

Up front, Charlie Clare starts at hooker and is joined by props Ellis Genge and Joe Heyes in the Leicester front row, with Harry Wells and Cameron Henderson in the second row.

Tommy Reffell and Hanro Liebenberg are the flankers and Jasper Wiese is the Tigers No8.

Tom Youngs, James Whitcombe, Dan Cole, Tomás Lavanini and George Martin are the replacement forwards, with Jack Van Poortvliet, Kini Murimurivalu and Harry Potter included as the backs on the Leicester bench.

Previewing Saturday’s fixture, Steve Borthwick said: “Worcester are a good side who have been unfortunate to be on the wrong side of some very close games recently, pushing some of the top teams in the league all the way.

“They are clearly making significant progress under a very good coaching team and have a talented squad across the board.

“I want to see an 80-minute performance on Saturday with the hard work, determination and toughness we expect of our players at Leicester Tigers from kick-off through until that final whistle.”
