Beauden Barrett takes a swipe at stoppages in the Premiership

All Blacks playmaker Beauden Barrett has taken a swipe at the Premiership, questioning why water carriers often come on when there is a break in play.

Barrett has found immediate success with his Japanese club Suntory Sungoliath helping the Tokyo-based side to three bonus-point wins in their first three matches of the 2021 season.

During his downtime, the 29-year-old appears to be watching some Premiership rugby and took seemed unimpressed by the pace that the game.

“Watching the Bath vs Exeter game.. Why is there 8 yellow bibs on the field every stoppage? Play the game,” Barrett tweeted.

Wasps playmaker and fellow All Black Lima Sopoaga agreed with his fellow countryman tweeting in reply 'preach braz' while former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen simply responded 'watch the golf!'.

Some Bath fans opted to take another approach and entice Barrett to join Bath with @thebathbadger tweeting 'What did you make of the rec? I hear their is a vacancy at 10 if you fancy it?'

@bathrugbyplug replied to Barrett saying 'Why not pay us a visit for a couple of seasons to sort it out? You'd be very welcome...'

Finally, @laurie_1M saw the opportunity to reference Brodie Retallick's slip of Courtney Lawes' name ahead of a test match a few years ago tweeting: 'Thought you ABs didn’t watch English rugby, or is that just Brodie? #micheallawes'
