Harlequins is delighted to announce that Fin Baxter has signed a long-term contract extension with the Club.
The loosehead prop joined the Quins Academy system aged 13 and made his way through the age groups to make his senior debut in last season’s Champions Cup fixture at The Stoop against Racing 92.
A former England U18 captain, Baxter was recently called into the England U20 side ahead of the U20 Six Nations after featuring seven times for the previous national age group.
The seventh player to re-commit to Harlequins over the last seven days Baxter, 19, has made four senior appearances for the Club to date, last featuring in the thrilling 52-24 victory over Bristol Bears at The Stoop earlier this season.
Commenting on his new deal, Baxter said: “I’m thrilled to re-sign. I’ve loved every moment with Quins so far and can’t wait to continue playing my part in this team.
“I’ve enjoyed the opportunities I’ve had so far in the senior team and am lucky to be able to have the ability to learn off internationals props like Joe Marler and Santi [Garcia Botta] week in, week out. To be able to work with a coach as experienced as Adam Jones as well if fantastic for my development.
“Quins is my boyhood club and I’m proud to be able to run out for a Club with such an exciting style of play.”
Scrum Coach Adam Jones said: “It’s great to have Fin re-sign. He’s a talented prop with an impressive ability to front up physically around the park and in the set-piece at a relatively young age for his position. He’s an incredibly coachable player and has developed well over the last two seasons.
“Outside of the usual roles of a front row, he also has the skills to play the kind of rugby that we’ve become well-known for as a team. It’s great to have a player of Fin’s potential recommit to the Club."
