Australia v New Zealand | TRC Rd 3 Highlights
Australia recorded a sensational 47-26 home win over New Zealand in the final round of a shortened Rugby Championship in Bledisloe Cup clash number one of two. Australia started strongly with an early penalty and try to build a 10-0 lead. The All Blacks hit back with two tries in quick succession to hit the front 12-10. A Wallaby penalty saw the hosts edge ahead, with New Zealand then picking up a red card for a shoulder charge making direct contact to the neck. Australia popped over the resulting penalty to take a 16-12 lead into the break. Australia started the second half fast and furious, crossing for two quick tries to storm into a 26-12 lead. New Zealand needed a response and went over for a try to get back into the match trailing 26-19 heading into the final quarter. New Zealand were being forced to make a huge amount of tackles and with minimal possession and a player down the pressure began to tell as the Wallabies ran in two tries to take a commanding 40-19 advantage into the final ten minutes. New Zealand did score from the restart, but it was of little consolation as the Wallabies went over for a sixth try to seal a famous victory and keep their Bledisloe Cup hopes alive heading into the second test in a weeks time.
