According to the Sportsmail Andy Farrell snubbed an offer to return as England coach following Paul Gustard's departure to the Harlequins.
Two-and-a-half years after they sacked Andy Farrell, England looked to bring him back into the England coaching set-up but the former dual-code international rejected their approach, to stay with Ireland.
Farrell snr - father of England and Lions fly-half Owen - was the first choice to fill the void in the management team created by Gustard’s shock departure, with the union having turned to Bulls coach John Mitchell to fill the void.
In May, he signed a contract extension with the IRFU until June, 2020. The IRFU are thought to be aware of the approach for Farrell from Twickenham and were delighted that he chose to honour his contract.
