7 Players from the Cheetahs & Kings to watch out for in the PRO14

Ox Nche

A 103 kg wrecking ball Retshegofadutswe Nche better known as Ox, is powerful loosehead who runs like a centre.

He has the ability to run over and away from a defender as well as the skill to offload in contact.

However, the SA A front rower is not a one trick pony, he is a handy scrummager and a lethal tackler and at the age of 22 Ox still has a bright future ahead of him.

The feisty prop amassed 185 metres from his 49 carries during the Super Rugby season.

Francois Venter

The Cheetahs captain is a real team player and has a great overall game.

He has an immense work ethic and is a consistent performer.

The 26-year-old made his Test debut last year and has been on the fringe of the Springbok squad since.

Chris Cloete

Altough Cloete will be pulling on a different red jersey this season with Munster, the former Kings flanker could not be left out.

Cloete had an outstanding season for the Kings in Super Rugby as he made the most turnovers (34) in the competion.

His 205 metres from his 66 carries also shows that he has a fine attacking game and he averages around 8 tackles a match.

He was also named in the SA A team to face the French Barbarians in June.

Makazole Mapimpi

Mapimpi's debut Super Rugby season was exceptional with the happy speedster scoring 11 tries in 14 matches for the Southern Kings.

The Cheetahs were clearly impressed by the 27-year-old's clinical finishing ability signing him on until the end of 2018.

His performances in the Super Rugby earned him a spot in the South Africa A side to face the French Barbarians.

He made an immediate impact at the Cheetahs scoring a try in his debut against the Western Province

Yaw Penxe

The youngest player on our list - Yaw Penxe is a speedy winger who has got some experience playing rugby in Europe having spent time at Kirkham Grammer School.

Penxe also made his Super Rugby debut with the Kings making 5 appearances and scoring two tries. He was also named in the SA U20 side that claimed a bronze medal at the Junior World Championship earlier this year.

Wandile Mjekevu

A talented player adept on the wing and a centre, Wandile Mjekevu will provide the Kings with a wealth of experience.

He also has a fantastic ability to pick the right angle to attack and his a handy defensive player.

Andisa Ntsila

With an array of talents, Andisa Ntsila will certainly make his presence felt in the Pro 14 this season.

He too was named in the South Africa A squad to face the French Barbarians.

He normally packs down at no.8 but is more than capable to operate on the side of the scrum.

Ntsila made his Super Rugby debut in 2016 but has grown in leaps and bounds over the last year and will likely be a key figure yet again in the Kings side.
