2018 NRC Round 2: Queensland Country vs Melbourne Rising

A nail-biting clash between of two strong NRC sides. Defending NRC champions Queensland Country held out to secure a one-point win over Melbourne Rising. James Tuttle scored the first try inside the first five minutes of the game before his opposite number Michael Ruru hit back with a brace inside before the half-hour mark. Angus Blyth got a try back for Queensland who trailed by 2 points into the break. Jock Campbell and Archie King each scored tries for their respective sides after the break before Country took an 8 point lead after two tries ahead of the final 10 minutes of the game. Isi Naisarani scored in the closing stages of the match to give Melbourne some hope but Queensland were able to keep them out and secure the win.
