Wellington host Otago in the second ITM Cup Championship semi-final.
Wellington finished the round robin stage in second position in the Championship standings with six wins, a draw and three defeats from their ten matches. They started out well by winning their first four games but in their last six games they lost three, drew one and have won two.
Otago ended up third on the Championship log, with six wins and four defeats from their ten matches. They come into the game on the back of five wins, but all of them against Championship sides.
These sides met in week 6 of the competition at the same venue, where Otago won an absolute thriller 37-36 with two late tries to secure the win.
It should be an absolute cracker of a match with the hosts determined to claim revenge from their defeat earlier in the season. The winners will face Hawke’s Bay in the Championship final.
