The first half was dominated by Wellington in terms of territory and possession and consistently getting over the advantage line. They have been their own worst enemy with handling errors bring many movements to an end. Southland have not been able to hold onto the ball, they get tackled backward and eventually the ball is stolen at the ruck.

Yet again a handling error brings Wellington's attack to an end, however Jane slices the defence on the counter and bring them back into the 22m area.

Wellington are dominating the collision, constantly getting over the advantage line and keeping the ball alive. This is causing major issues for the Southland defence who have managed to keep Wellington out despite the dominance in territory and possession.
