Sharks engage the scrum too soon and the Reds have a short arm penalty.

The Reds have a scrum on halfway, midfield with plenty of options on either side of the scrum. Tough position to defend for the Sharks.

Frans Steyn attempts a drop goal off his left foot, but it is a shocker as he slips and shanks the ball towards the touch line. The Reds winger catches the ball out wide and is in space, he runs it up 35m before being brought down. Disaster of a kick from Steyn.

O'Connor's clearing kick from the kickoff is a poor one. Sharks have a lineout 30m out.

O'Connor is tackled out of play and that brings the half to a close.

The Reds regain the ball off their own kickoff and they set up an attack with seconds remaining in the half.
