NZ take a 13-11 lead over SA into halftime. NZ got off to the perfect start, with a try just 2 minutes in to lead 7-0. SA hit back with a score almost immediately and slotted two penalties in quick succession to lead 11-7 13 minutes in. NZ reduced the deficit to a single point with a penalty around the half hour mark. Five minutes later SA picked up a yellow card, with NZ kicking the resulting penalty which sees them up by two points at the break.
