Very flat disappointing first half

8 point lead really does flatter the hosts here. Nothing in the way of attacking menace and certainly not posing any real threat to the Samoan defensive line. Samoa getting in behind with relative ease outwide and through the midfield defence of D'Arcy and O'Driscoll. Much improvement needed from the Irish XV. Lack of intensity throughout, not helped by the endless stoppages and reset scrums but nonetheless, a poor showing by from Ireland by all accounts.

Pisi leaves the field apologising to Tommy Bowe. Nothing malicious in the tackle, some leeway could have been gived but understandable from Walsh's viewpoint. A shot at goal for Jackson from 20 odd out on the angle
