NZ take an 18-17 lead over Irland into halftime. NZ kicked two early penalties and went over for the opening try midway through the half to open up a 13-0 lead. Ireland got on the board with a penalty and a try shortly after closed the gap to 13-10. NZ responded with another try to push the lead out to 18-10. NZ then picked up a yellow card and Ireland capitalized with a late score to reduce the deficit to just a single point at the break.
