Ireland take a 20-7 lead over Georgia into halftime. It took just eight minutes for Ireland to open the scoring as a try saw them into a 7-0 lead. Five minutes later Ireland added a penalty to make it 10-0. Georgia hit back with a superb try, their first points in the competition to trail just 10-7. Ireland added another penalty around the midpoint of the half and would run in their second try after 33 minutes of play to make it a 13 point ball game. Ireland thought they had another late try, but it was disallowed due to a forward pass. Ireland were also held up over the line with the final play of the half.
