England take a 17-10 lead over New Zealand into halftime. New Zealand opened the scoring with an early try, but a yellow card allowed England to close the gap with a penalty. England made their numerical advantage count with a powerful scrum earning them a penalty try to hit the front at 10-5. Soon after and England were in again as they extended their lead to 17-5. However, New Zealand would have the final say of the half as they crossed for their second try to trail by seven points at the break.
