Almost predictably, Counties receive the ball from the kickoff and immediately make a break up field. After some poor defense and some great hands, they find themselves a metre from the tryline. Counties then get over the tryline, but after consulting the TMO, it was adjudged as a double movement. Incredible stuff none the less.
Counties awarded a penalty at scrum time.
Counties kick for the corner, and once again Wellington are not able to make some something of their counter attack as they are held up in the tackle. Counties scrum 30m out from Wellington tryline.
Nanai Williams clears up field, Woodward counter attacks but runs into his own player. Very frustrating for Wellington. Counties scrum near halfway.
Wellington have a lineout on the Counties 22m line. They form a maul and have gone 15m before it collapses. Unfortunately for them, the ball is held up and Counties are awarded a scrum 5m out.
One would think that if the Wellington coach were able to make 15 substitutions, he might just do it now. They really have a mountain to climb in the second half. Lets hope they are able to make a contest out of it.
Counties enjoyed 56% possession to Wellingtons 44% in the first 40.
Wow, what an unexpected half of rugby. Counties have been superb in general play, showing some great hands and keeping the ball alive at all costs. Wellington seem to have no answer to the onslaught, however Counties' execution has really been classy.
Counties showing some real class. After the kickoff Counties break the defense at will. Eventually Wellington run out of defenders and Tuala steps inside a defender to go over for yet another try.
Very scrappy play in the last 5min of play, both sides making many mistakes. Counties seem to have woken up and after some great hands by the backline, Pulu throws a great dummy a metre out from the tryline and goes over for the try.
