Clermont have their own problems up front, particularly with first and second choice hookers Benjamin Kayser and Ti'i Paulo both on international duty. They do however have an incredible backline to call upon, with Aurélien Rougerie fit to return and Brock James ready to slot in for the absent Camille Lopez.

Without playing at their best, Stade Français have managed to ease their way up the table, and now sit third, level on points with second-placed Clermont. They've done that, despite playing just four of their first ten games on home soil, and they and Bordeaux are the only teams in the play-off spots who are still unbeaten at home. Stade have already beaten both Castres and Toulon on their travels, but a win in Clermont would arguably be even more impressive.Unfortunately for Stade, they've been hit pretty hard by international call-ups, in the pack in particular, and the absence of Pascal Papé and Alexandre Flanquart will certainly hurt them. Philippe Saint-André's curious decision to leave out Rabah Slimani is a boost though, as he's arguably the form tighthead in the league, and against the powerful Clermont scrum he'll have a major role to play.
