Brive take a slender 19-17 lead over Connacht into halftime. Connacht opened the scoring with an early penalty, but Brive crossed for three tries to take a 19-3 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of the half. However, Connacht would finish the half strongly, as they ran in two tries to trail by just two points at the break. All to play for in the second forty.
