The Bristol Bears take a 21-17 lead over Harlequins into halftime after a sea-saw first half. Quins hit the post with an early penalty attempt and Bristol broke from deep to score the opening try. Quins were then awarded a penalty try to level matters, with Bristol picking up a yellow card in the process. Despite being a player down, Bristol went over for their second try around the midpoint of the half, but Quins response was immediate as they crossed for their second score to make it 14-14. A third Bristol try around the half hour mark saw the hosts back in front, with Quins pulling three points back with a penalty with the final play of the half.
