Halai crosses for his third, in a very similar fashion to his first. Blues build their way up to the Rebel twenty-two. Sensing weakness in the Rebels' wide defence, they sweep it out to Halai who evades Vuna's challenge for the try.
2 converted kicks is a very bad return from the kickers so!!!!! Is that the reason o Connor was replaced?
Six tries within the half hour! A terrifying break by Rene Ranger forces the Rebels to touch down over their try-line and gift the Blues with a scrum on the five metre. Blues move the ball quickly off the back to mid-field, where Sailli collects on a scything line and crosses. But once again, the Blues concede straight off the restart. Rebels make a simple turnover and fling the ball out to Higginbotham. Higginbotham backs himself, planting a big hand-off on Ali WIlliams and powering over for the try.
@Joe, weather's good! No wind to speak of and a clear night sky.
What is the weather like there? As kicking returns seem to e terrible. 1 good kick out of 7?
Francis Saili crosses for a suspect, albeit impressive try. Ranger receives the the ball out-wide and crashes into contact, slipping a beautiful off-load to Saili around the defender's back. The ball looks to slip through Sailli's hands, but he chips the ball ahead ahead just as it slips from his fingers. The kick is good and race ensues, Sailli gets there first and touches down.
Blues sweep the ball back and forth inside Rebel territory, testing the fringes, and eventually Halai finds space out-wide and darts through for the try. Rebels respond quickly with a try of their own though. Ali Williams spills possession inside his own twenty-two, and Higginbotham is there to collect. The ball is fired out to Inman on the wing who shows impressive strength to barrel through a number of challenges for the try.
After two missed opportunities by O'Connor, Noakes gets the chance to draw first blood when Rebels are penalised for offside. No luck either..
Rebels secure possession off the Blues' twenty-metre drop-out and begin to grind back into the Blues' half. After two minutes of defending, the Blues concede once more, right in front. O'Connor's kick swerves wide, from a very comfortable position...
Blues collect the restart and seek to attack down the fringes, but they concede a penalty when the Referee spots hands in the ruck. Rebels opt for the posts from quite a distance but O'Connor's kick falls short.
