Carlisle kicks off to get us underway!

Both sides are on the field as we await K.O.

Hello and welcome to Ultimate Rugby’s coverage of this afternoons European Champions Cup action as Treviso welcome the Northampton Saints to Stadio Monigo for the third round and the first of these back-to-back fixtures. The Italians face a tough task today as they play host to a Saints side high on confidence and ambition, Jim Mallinder’s men will be looking to go one further than last season and claim the European crown in it's inaugural season. Treviso have had a torrid season thus far as they have failed to record a victory in 11 attempts, whereas the Saints sit at the top of the table in their domestic league and in second place in the Champions Cup Pool 5 with 5 points, 3 adrift of leaders Racing Metro. The visitors boast a strong starting lineup this afternoon with an equally strong bench including England stars Wood, Lawes and Hartley on the back of the November internationals. Stay with us for live updates and match analysis.

George North has made a joint tournament-high five clean breaks this season, with four of them coming against the Ospreys in the last round.
