Neither team settling here. A lack of fluency to the game with both sides resorting to the boot to keep the opposition at bay
Bayonne miss their first opportunity of the game with Blair Stewart hitting his penalty attempt left and wide.
We are up and running here in the Stade Jean Dauger
Montpellier's last win at Jean Dauger came back in 2011, but you can be sure that Galthié has picked this game out as the ideal launching pad for his team, who don't play a team currently in the top half of the table before the end of the year. For Bayonne there are three away games in their next four after this, so a slip-up is not allowed.
Last week was a must-win game for Bayonne at home to Toulouse, and when the Basque side trailed 10-0 inside the first ten minutes, things did not look good. From there Yoann Maestri was sin-binned and Corey Flynn was then sent off, as Bayonne took advantage of Toulouse's 14 men to pick up a much-needed bonus-point success. Of course the win wasn't solely a result of Toulouse having a man fewer, and the way Bayonne have turned around their problems up front has been hugely impressive. And after a disastrous start to the season, Patricio Noriega's side would actually leapfrog Montpellier if they win today.
