After representing Valke at youth level Meyer matriculated from Hoerskool Dr. E.G. Jansen and joined the Lions Academy in 2013.
Meyer spent 2 years in the Golden Lions Currie Cup side before signing for Griquas in 2016.
After a fantastic Currie Cup campaign with the Griquas in the 2017 Currie Cup, Meyer signed a loan deal with the Lions and will join the side for the 2018 Super Rugby season.
