A great distributor and clever kicker, the scrumhalf went on the make his senior provincial debut for the Pumas in 2007 when he played in the Vodacom and Currie Cup. Still with the Pumas, 2010 saw Coetzee getting his Super Rugby debut for the Lions. A stint with the EP kings in 2011, Jacques then signed with Griquas in 2012 and linked up with Cheetahs Super Rugby squad in the same year.
