The Cornish Pirates announced in June 2024 that Cam had signed a contract for the 2024/25 season.
After first playing rugby for his local club Maesteg Harlequins, as part of the Ospreys regional pathway Cam played regional age grade rugby and for Wales at under 16s level. He then attended Hartpury College and was involved with Gloucester Academy, ahead of setting off to Scotland where, qualifying through his supportive Scottish grandfather Eric Paterson, he was honoured to represent Scotland under 18s.
A brief return home to Wales saw Cam turn out for Maesteg and then Bridgend Ravens, before it was back up to Scotland to play for Southern Knights. He would become part of the Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors setups, where he received many plaudits for his performances in the Super Series Sprint, besides being named in The Offside Line team-of-the-week on several occasions. Cam had also featured for Ayrshire Bulls and for Heriot’s, before returning to Ospreys from where he joined the Cornish Pirates to take on the challenge of a new experience and to grow his game still further.
Away from rugby, Cam played youth football for Cardiff Academy and youth cricket for Glamorgan, whilst hobbies nowadays include playing golf – and enjoying a nice cup of coffee!
