Ntuthuko Mchunu, born on 5 April 1999, is a talented South African rugby union player who currently represents the Sharks in the Pro 14 Rainbow Cup SA. His primary position on the field is prop.

Mchunu received his education at Maritzburg College in Pietermaritzburg, where he excelled both academically and in rugby. In his final year of high school in 2018, he held the prestigious position of Head Boy.

He was included in the Sharks squad for the Pro14 Rainbow Cup SA competition, showcasing his skills and potential as a prop. Mchunu made his debut for the Sharks in the opening round of the Pro14 Rainbow Cup SA against the Stormers.

Known for his power and dominance in the scrum, Mchunu has drawn comparisons to legendary Springbok and Sharks prop Tendai Mtawarira. He displays excellent ball-carrying abilities, making him a force to be reckoned with on the field.

Mchunu gained attention and became a viral sensation for his remarkable try against the Lions in March 2021. In that match, he displayed his speed and agility by running from just inside his own half to score a sensational try.

Due to his consistent impressive performances, Mchunu was rewarded with a new contract from the Sharks in December 2021. He committed to the team until 2024, solidifying his place within the squad and highlighting his potential for future success.
