England head coach Eddie Jones has gone back to his tried and tested back row of Sam Underhill, Tom Curry and Billy Vunipola as his team prepares to take on Ireland in the second round of the Autumn Nations Cup.
The selections mean that Jack Willis falls out of the squad after making his international debut in Round 1. Willis performed admirably (even scoring a try) as England brushed Georgia aside 40-0.
Jones had already conveyed, however, that Willis’ inclusion was to rest Sam Underhill in preparation for Round 2.
Jones said there was definite room for improvement as far as England’s attack was concerned, highlighting that his team squandered several opportunities. Attack coach Simon Amor said:
“We left quite a few points out there. There were quite a few handling errors so there are definitely areas to improve upon. We’re excited about where we’re going and we’re keen to take a big step forward this weekend, particularly in execution.”
