Warriors look to catalyse much improved season against Exiles

Two of the strugglers from 2020-21 will lock horns at Sixways on Saturday afternoon as Worcester Warriors host London Irish.
Worcester will have done plenty of soul-searching over the off-season after a terribly disappointing campaign which saw them finish at the very bottom of the table after managing just one solitary victory in their previous campaign.
The Exiles finished in ninth spot after posting a total of six wins.
Interestingly, Worcester’s only victory last season came against Exiles, the margin of which was just a single point:
In the return fixture, Exiles took revenge on the Warriors – albeit by only three points – at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Both sides enjoyed warm-up games against Connacht in recent weeks. Warriors were dominant but showed room for improvement on defence after winning 59-34. It was then Exiles’ turn and they then turned the screws on the Irish outfit, emerging victorious by 47-14.
"Under Declan Kidney, they have become a quality Premiership side over the last couple of seasons,” said Warriors head coach, Jonathan Thomas.
"But the big thing for us is focusing on ourselves because we have new players that have had to get up to speed and new combinations.”
