Wales sweat on the fitness of Dan Biggar

Wales may have to contest the series-deciding Test in South Africa without the services of flyhalf and captain, Dan Biggar. 

Dan sustained a shoulder injury during the second Test in Bloemfontein – Wales' first victory on South African soil – and it is not yet determined whether he will be fit enough to take the field at the Cape Town Stadium. 

Pacey winger Alex Cuthbert has already been ruled out of the tour while prop Dillon Lewis also left the field injured in Bloemfontein. 

The Welsh will crave both the leadership and ability of Biggar if they are to topple the Boks again and assistant coach Gethin Jenkins is hopeful of his return. 

"In terms of Dan, we'll wait until later in the week, while Alex has gone home. We've got a few bumps and bruises," Jenkins said. 

"He’s (Lewis) recovered well and hopefully he’ll train Thursday and be back on the field on the weekend. 

"However, there's not too much to write home about and I think we'll have a full squad to select from." 

Should Biggar be unavailable, the performance of Gareth Anscombe at the weekend will definitely encourage Wayne Pivac as the flyhalf showed great promise after a difficult road back from injury.
