Ulster player ratings vs Exeter Chiefs

Ulster made an excellent second-half comeback against the Exter Chiefs, in the first game of round 4 in the Champions Cup. Scores were level at 17-17 at the half, however tries from Dave McCann, Rob Herring and others ensured the home team walked a way 52-44 winners. Here are the player ratings.

4. Iain Henderson (5)

Worked hard on defense, not much from him on the day.


5. Cormac Izuchukwu (9)

Carried the ball well in the passage leading up to his try. Scored his second try in the 65th minute and his third in the 77th minute

6. James McNabney (6)

Solid performance on both attack and defense


7. Nick Timoney (7)

Ripped a ball and scored an Explosive try breaking two tackles

8. David McCann (7)

Scored from a ruck, workhorse on defense scored a second try later in the half

9. Nathan Doak (7)

Good distribution and tactical kicking. Subbed off in the 57th minute after a suspected injury

10. Jack Murphy (7)

Missed a few conversions that would have made for vital points

11. Michael Lowry (8)

Found his footing in the second half. Been really good with ball in hand, although restricted, assited in creating a try

12. Jude Postlethwaite (6)

Phyiscal on defence

13. Ben Carson (7)

Found gaps throughout the game, scored eventually througha Mike Lowry assist.

14. Werner Kok

Went off within 5 minutes HIA

15. Stewart Moore (4)

Outpaced by Exeter eighth man Ross Vintcent
