Montpellier coaching staff set for shake-up
Montpellier's coaching staff is set for a shake-up ahead of next season with Vern Cotter set to leave his role as head coach and become the club's director of rugby according to RMC Sport.
On Monday, La Rochelle confirmed that Xavier Garbajosa will leave the club at the end of the season with RMC Sport reporting that Garbajosa will succeed Cotter as the side's head coach.
The report also suggests that retired scrumhalf Julien Tomas will assist Garbajosa with the backline with Pierre-Philippe Lafond linked with the forwards' coach role at the club.
Finally, Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard has reportedly agreed in principle to join Montpellier and is expected to arrive at the club after the World Cup in Japan, according to L'Equipe. Read more
Alex Toolis signs for London Scottish
Alex Toolis has signed to join London Scottish next season, the Club has announced.
The Australian born lock grew up in Brisbane and played for the prestigious GPS Old Boys School. Following a standout season in Queensland Premier Rugby, Alex signed with Edinburgh in 2013 along with his brother Ben, who has played international rugby for Scotland and is currently still at Edinburgh in the Pro 14.
Toomua departs Leicester early
Leicester Tigers have confirmed that Matt Toomua has been granted an early release, at the request of the player and his new club the Melbourne Rebels.
The Wallabies international was due to meet up with his new colleagues at the conclusion of the Premiership season, but Leicester Tigers agreed to the request to depart a week early. Read more
Maori All Blacks to play Fiji in two-match series
The Maori All Blacks haka will face the fierce Fijian cibi when the two sides play in a home and away two-match series this year, New Zealand Rugby announced today.
The Flying Fijians will have first home-advantage when the Maori All Blacks – assembling for the first time since their Americas end of year tour last year – head to Suva, Fiji, for their season opening match on Saturday 13 July.
Both teams head to Rotorua, New Zealand where one team will look to even the ledger as the two teams face off again at Rotorua International Stadium on Saturday 20 July.
