Trio become latest additions to Jersey Reds' squad for next season

Jersey Reds have confirmed three further additions to the squad being assembled for next season: scrum-half Luc Jones, prop Daniel Richardson and centre George Spencer.

The trio are due to arrive on the Island in time for pre-season training ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, which will be the Reds' eighth since reaching the Greene King IPA Championship in 2012.

Jones, who will be 25 in May, was born in Neath and represented Wales at under 20 level in the 2014 Junior World Cup. He played for Welsh region the Dragons from 2013-16, including appearances in the Pro 12 and European Challenge Cup, plus home-and-away British & Irish Cup ties against Jersey.

Richardson, who'll celebrate his 23rd birthday next week, took the first steps in his rugby career with his home-town club Penrith. He then made the move across the Pennines and studied Sports and Exercise Science at Leeds Beckett University. He has two seasons' experience at National 1 level, last season with Fylde, and this season for Rotherham

Spencer was born in Harrogate in February 1999 but educated in South Africa after moving there with his family at the age of four. He attended Bishops, a renowned rugby school in Cape Town, and played for Western Province under 18s in 2017. He moved to Europe last year and became part of the Scottish Academy, representing Scotland at under 19 level and featuring for the under 20 development squad this season, as well as playing club rugby for Edinburgh Academical FC, the "Accies".
