Top performers RWC edition: Italy v Namibia

Italy ran riot over Namibia in their World Cup opener, winning 52-8.  

2 players stood out, and here are our 2 top performers.  

The first and most obvious one is Man-of-the-match 22-year-old Lorenzo Cannone. Cannone drew first blood when he went over the try line in the 10th minute from a strong Italian maul.  

The 8th man was instrumental in Italy's win making 27 metres and beating 4 defenders in 7 carries. Defensively he was sounds as well making 13 tackles.  

The second player on our list is flanker and captain Michele Lamaro.  

Lamaro was a big physical presence for Italy today boasting a 100% tackle success rate. He made an impressive 19 tackles, which is the most for the whole game. He made 7 carries, beating 4 defenders and assisting 1 try.  

Boss-man Kieran Crowley will certainly be happy with not only the performance his 2 loosies but that of the whole team.
