Top Performers - Reds v Rebels
- 1526
We take a look at the Top Performers following another entertaining Australian derby between the Queensland Reds and Melbourne Rebels.
Reece Hodge
Hodge makes an impact for the Rebels no matter what number he has on his back.
The Wallaby utility back opened up the Reds defence with regular ease.
He combined well with the rest of the Rebels backs, Dane Haylett-Petty in particular.
He even came up with a brilliant drop goal from a penalty.
Jono Lance
The accurate boot of Lance saw the Reds to victory in this clash as he was able to slot all 4 of his attempts at goal.
He also added a try after he ran a perfect support line off of Jordan Petaia to score.
His calmness at the back also helped the Reds survive a number of promising Rebels attacks.
Taniela Tupou
Another barnstorming performance by the young Wallabies tighthead.
He was destructive with ball in hand and at a scrum time with Tetera Faulkner and Fereti Saaga unable to handle the big man.
His strong scrummaging also earned the Reds a penalty try.
Liam Wright
Replacing George is no easy task but the young Reds flanker stepped up and put in a brilliant performance for his side.
He was superb at the breakdown and made 12 tackles.
