Stade Francais notched up a must needed win as they edged Castres 23-17 in round 20 of the French Top 14. The sides could not be separated at halftime, with a single try and penalty apiece seeing the score deadlocked at 10-10 at the break. An early Stade Francais penalty was followed by a drop goal for a six point lead. Stade Francais then ran in their second try to take control of the match with a 23-10 advantage with around 15 minutes remaining. Castres crossed for their second score soon after to set up a tense finish, but the comeback was not to be as Stade Francais claimed a crucial victory.
