THROWBACK: Sam Burgess' TWO massive hits against Wasps
- 2729
Sam Burgess' time in rugby union was short-lived lasting just one season with Bath and featured in England's disastrous home Rugby World Cup.
His inclusion and performances at the World Cup were widely scrutinized, and seen by some pundits as partly to blame for England's "humiliating" early pool stage exit from the tournament—the worst result for a host nation in the tournament's history.
Burgess in 2018 claimed "If people actually rewatched the games I participated in you will see I added to the team. What cost us an early exit was individual egos and selfish players not following our leader."
Despite all the negativity around Burgess' time in union, he did have some great highlights, his performance against Wasps included where he landed two HUGE hits on Ben Jacobs.
