Siya Kolisi commits long-term future to Sharks

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi will remain with the Sharks until 2027 after signing a new long-term deal.
The 30-year-old became Springbok #851 on his 22nd birthday in 2013 debuting against Scotland having impressed in his first two seasons as a Stormers player. In 2015, he was in the Springboks extended 2015 training squad and was selected in the 31-man RWC Squad.
Having earned 76 caps for the Stormers since making his debut in 2012, Kolisi was appointed as captain of the Stormers in 2017, with lock Eben Etzebeth his vice-captain.
Kolisi parted ways with Western Province Rugby and the Stormers after an 11-year journey and ended his time at Western Province Rugby as the second-most capped Stormers player, with the legendary Schalk Burger (123) the only player to have topped his 118 Super Rugby caps for the franchise. He joined the Sharks in 2021.
In May 2018, Kolisi was named as the Springbok captain for the three-match test series against England by Rassie Erasmus. In 2019, he became the third Springbok captain to lift the Webb Ellis Cup, when the South Africa beat England 32-12 in the Rugby World Cup Final in Yokohama.
Siya Kolisi is the first black captain of a World Cup-winning side. He also led South Africa to a British and Irish Lions Series last year claiming a 2-1 Series win.
