Season ends early for Manu

Chiefs loosehead prop Pauliasi Manu's season has come to a swift end after rupturing his Achilles tendon while performing a low intensity training drill early on Wednesday morning.

Manu was set to earn his 50th cap for the Chiefs in their game against Western Force this weekend, but he will have to undergo surgery in the next few days - followed by a six to nine month rehabilitation period.

Atu Moli, the New Zealand U20 captain, is rumoured to be called up to the bench for this fixture.
