Lock-forward Sean Robinson will be a Newcastle Falcons player for the next four seasons after agreeing a new long-term contract with the club.
The 28-year-old Durham University graduate has made 68 appearances for the Falcons, missing most of the 2018-19 campaign with a broken arm but returning for the last month of the competition.
Director of rugby Dean Richards said: “Sean is a player we rate extremely highly, and whose absence we felt during the season.
“He is an intelligent line-out caller who understands the game, he is a threatening ball-carrier and is exactly the type of player upon whom we can build our game over the coming years.”
Whilst at the university Robinson represented England Students during the 2013/2014 season before signing full professional terms with Newcastle Falcons the following summer.
Having begun the 2013/14 season on dual registration with Championship side Rotherham Titans, Robinson returned to Newcastle Falcons ahead of the autumn cup window, coming off the bench to make his first-team debut against Bucharest Wolves before scoring his first Falcons try in the club’s 30-23 European Rugby Challenge Cup victory over Stade Francais.
Robinson made his Premiership debut later that season away to Bath, making a further two league appearances to take his tally for that season up to 11.
