We take a look at the Top Performers for the first three Super Rugby matches on Saturday, with the Waratahs putting 50 on the Sunwolves, while the Chiefs edged the Blues and Brumbies claimed an important win over the Reds.
Taqele Naiyavoro
The big winger had an outstanding game against the Sunwolves making 184 running metres from his 8 carries, scored a try and played a major rule in another.
Jake Gordon
The Waratahs scrumhalf was another Waratah that had a huge game for his side. He ran a good support line for his first try and sniped over from a scrum for his second.
Gordon got the Waratahs out of a few tough situations with some good box kicks and had a great 77 minutes overall.
Michael Little
Altough he was on the losing side in the second match of the day, Little had a big for the Sunwolves making 122 running metres, beating 4 defenders and making 2 clean breaks.
He also picked up 2 try assists and scored one of his own.
Solomon Alaimalo
The Chiefs flyer seems to make over 100 running metres every week and it was no different against the Blues as he gained 41 metres more than his closest competitor, Sean Wainui.
Brodie Retallick
Retallick was exceptional again for the Chiefs, making 14 carries and 6 tackles. He hit the rucks hard and made a game high of 4 offloads.
He managed to beat 1 defender on his way to making 37 running metres and making 1 clean break.
Chris Feauai-Sautia
The big centre was in fine form the Reds as he assisted Taniela Tupou for the opening try of the game before scoring one of his own.
His strong ball carries and ability to beat a defender kept the Brumbies defence busy throughout the match.
Isi Naisarani
The Fijian born no.8 scored two crucial tries for the Brumbies. He carried the ball 14 times, making 93 metres.
He was solid defensively making 7 tackles and 2 turnovers.
David Pocock
Pocock built on a solid return against the Waratahs with another fine performance against the Reds.
The busy flanker made 18 tackles, 3 turnovers and was a consent threat at the breakdown.
He even got dotted down for his first try of the season.
