Santiago Cordero ends transfer speculation with new deal

Santiago Cordero has ended any speculation and rumours that he could be heading back to the Premiership as he has signed a contract extension with French club Bordeaux.

Cordero was linked with a move back to Exeter as well as a move to Harlequins but he has opted to remain with TOP 14 side Bordeaux signing a contract extension until 2023.

The Pumas star joined the club after a stint at Exeter and has gone on to score 12 tries in 21 matches since arriving at the club in 2019.

Since his move to Bordeaux, Cordero has forced his way back into the Argentina test squad and came off the bench in Argentina's historic win over New Zealand in the Tri Nations.

He returned to Bordeaux in time for the Champions Cup and scored the match winning try in their victory over Northampton Saints in round one.

Cordero's fellow countryman, Bautista Delguy started training with the club earlier this week and has been added to their Champions Cup squad having signed until the end of the 2020/21 season.
