Spain 22-10 Romania

Spain recorded their first win over Romania in six years on Saturday and are in pole position to qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. 

If Spain do qualify for the World Cup they will join hosts Japan, Scotland, Ireland and the Playoff Winner in Pool A. 

How the qualification works:


After the game, the Spanish fans flooded the field to congratulate their side for one of Spain’s finest performances. Spain have matches against the bottom two sides Germany and Belgium coming up as well as Georgia in a fortnight’s time. 


Los Leones chances of qualifying for the big event is now firmly in their own hands.

Georgia put 60 past Germany

Having already claimed a guaranteed spot at Japan 2019, Georgia's sole focus in the Rugby Europe Championship is to reclaim the title they lost last year to Romania.

Georgia have yet to concede a single point in the Rugby Europe Championship this season beating Belgium 47-0 and Germany 64-0. 

This is the first time Georgia have claimed back to back clean sheets in test match rugby history.

Georgia was as dominant as ever in the contact area and at scrum time having trained with England earlier in the week.

Georgia holds a two-point lead at the top of the table and boast an impressive 110 point difference.
 
 
 
Russia back to winning ways
 
 
Russia got back to winning ways this weekend following a 13-20 lose to Spain in Round one. Playing in front of their home crowd the Russians wasted no time scoring their first try inside the first 10 minutes of the game and took a 19-0 lead into the break. 
 
They scored four tries after the break to beat Belgium 48-7. Russia are two points behind Spain in their hopes to qualify for the 2019 World Cup but have two difficult matches up next with an away match against fellow hopefuls Romania as well as Georgia.
