Bakkies Botha

Love him or hate him, no list of this nature would be complete without his name on it. Bakkies Botha earned a reputation over his 14 year career as one of the most brutal forwards in the world, always reveling in the physical side of the game and showing no quarter to opponents.

Sebastien Chabal

The former French number 8 played with the flair for which his countrymen are known. Through the years he honed his talents and skills to render himself a quite superb loose forward and was instrumental in so many of France’s successes. Nicknamed 'Caveman' due to his hirsute appearance, Chabal stood back for no man in contact.

Jerry Collins

Opponents of the All Blacks who dared attack the advantage line would often take a little longer to climb out of bed the next morning after facing the might of Jerry Collins. The much loved All Black tragically died in a motor accident in June 2015 but gifted the rugby world many memories of his fearless physicality.
