Red Roses Nail Down 2020 Title but Still in Hunt for Grand Slam

A late comeback from Scotland to draw with the French sealed England’s fate as 2020 Six Nations champions over the weekend.

While the Red Roses can tick that box, they also have an opportunity for a back-to-back grand slam if they can beat Italy in their final fixture on 1 November at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.

England head coach Simon Middleton said: “We are delighted to have retained the title after four big performances from the team to date.

"It's a fitting reward for all the hard work put in earlier this year.

“We have a big week ahead and the aim is to stay focussed on securing the Grand Slam in Italy next weekend.”

England are deserved winners, taking their opponents in their stride round by round. They opened their campaign with a six-point victory over France before thrashing Scotland 53-0 in Round 2. Thereafter, they powered past Ireland 27-0 before another massive performance saw them crush Wales 66-7 in Round 4.
