Queensland Reds Women Create History With First Win Over Waratahs
The Queensland Reds women's team have today beaten the NSW Waratahs for the first time to create history and a stunning advance to the semi-finals in Swyftx Super Rugby Women's.
The Reds won 26-19 in the wet over the six-time champions at Sydney's Leichhardt Oval to end a 0-13 run against the Waratahs since the premier women's tournament kicked off in 2018.
Halfback Sarah Dougherty, cool game controller Lori Cramer, try-scoring Wallaroos prop Eva Karpani and hooker Roni Setu were amongst the standout players for the Reds.
After three losses to open the tournament, the Reds had to topple their arch-rivals for the first time to advance to the semi-finals or the season was over.
