Pro D2 – The five-point deduction against Dax confirmed
- 3626
US Dax had been penalized with a five-point penalty—and a four-point suspended penalty—for non-compliance with regulations. The axe has fallen and the decision has been made: Dax will start the new season with a five-point deficit in the standings. The club has announced that it will refer the matter to the administrative court.
Vincent Etcheto will have his hands full this season with US Dax. The Landes manager will leave at the start of the season with a five-point deduction in the Pro D2 standings, as determined by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), which is in charge of deliberating on the matter. The Dax team had been arrested for non-compliance with regulatory provisions.
Following this decision, the club communicated, explaining that it had acknowledged the decision but was also responding to the relevant authorities. "Following the request for conciliation, US DAX Rugby Landes acknowledges the CNOSF's proposal to maintain the penalty of deducting 5 points for the 25-26 season and has decided to oppose it. US DAX is therefore referring the matter to the Administrative Court for an assessment of the facts in question." With this decision, Benjamin Gufflet's club has stated its objective: to maintain its position. " Aware of the situation, the club's management is taking responsibility and is doing everything possible to help the sports sector achieve its objective of maintaining its position despite this handicap."
